Please help make our experience an enjoyable one by keeping these considerations in mind during a school visit:
| |
- Someone should be available to meet and greet the program presenter.
- Audiovisual equipment should be all set and ready to go. A good microphone is essential for an A+ presentation.
- A designated person should introduce the speaker and also close out the program with final remarks and/or dismissal of students.
- Lounges, bathrooms, and other key areas should be made known to the program presenter upon arrival or some other time during the school visit.
- Someone should be designated to assist the program presenter throughout the day as workshops are conducted.
- Upon completion of the program activities, a designated adult should be available to assist with preparations for leaving. At no time should the program presenter be left alone to pack up and leave.
- Payments should be given to the presenter on the day of the program at the completion of the job. This should already be taken care of so that delays in departure may be avoided.
- The agreed upon time at the school and the agreed upon schedule should not be changed unless cleared by the presenter before arrival (except in emergency situations like school delays, fire drills, etc.)
- Pre-arrangements for lunch should be made with the cafeteria personnel. A minimum of 30 minutes is required for lunch.
- To set a good example for the students it is important for educators in attendance to avoid grading papers and doing other duties while Poetry Pizzazz Plus! is in motion.
