Different
Addie Leigh Milam, 8th grade

Everyone is different in their own unique and special ways,
Why can’t people just understand,
God made us differently and yet he loves us all the same,
We are all to blame,
We do not love everyone,
That is okay.
But we all deserve to be treated with RESPECT.
Most of us do not know the word.
You ask why,
I can’t tell you why.
Most of us choose not to listen or learn.
Instead of hate why can’t people just tolerate.
Everyone is different, everyone.

I WANT SOMETHING
By Jason Andrew Gazauskus, Grade 7

I want something
I want something to do
I want something to love
I want tolerance

I want someone to love
I want someone to love me
I want tolerance in the world
I want respect for the world

I want someone to love the world
I want someone to love books
I want to do something/
But I don’t know.

But all I know is that I want something,
But I don’t know where or when it’s coming.

Laura Scearce, 3rd Grade

I’m a 9-year-old kid.
In a big, big world.
With a Mom and Dad
The best in the world.
I’ve got people who love me and that’s all I need.
And that’s how my life is and it’s easy to read.

Kyndal Grace-Ann Moss, Grade 5

You taught me to write about anything and that it is okay to be different.
You taught me to have dreams and dreams do come true.

Jack Foley, 7th grade

If I am walking down the street and I fall,
Will you help me?
If I am hurt, will you help me?
If I need someone to talk to,
Will you help me?
If I am looking for something,
Will you help me?

I’ve Seen the World
By Nicholas Pradhan

I’ve seen the world, and the world has seen me.
I’ve seen its great diversity.
From Latin America to Europe to Aria, I’ve seen the world
And the world has seen me.
From the poverty of Kathmandu and its busy streets of chaos
To the sky scrapers of NYC and the tiny people down below.
I’ve seen the world, and the world has seen me.
Family in El Salvador, And in Nepal,
Have taught me to love, serve, and care for everyone on this big ball.
To respect and trust all that I see.
I’ve seen the world and the world has seen me.

Joe Gauthier, 9th Grade

I learned many things about The Dream Lady. I learned that we should have tolerance for everyone no matter how different they are from us. I learned that we should never lose hope. learned that you should always tell the truth because it can prevent problems from occurring. I learned that you should always spread happiness even if you don’t feel like it. I learned several things from The Dream Lady.

The World’s Diversity
By Lane Whichard, 8th Grade

There are many different people on earth
Some think they are the same
And others don’t
Some hate other’s differences
Without diversity
There would be o creativity.
There would be no learning or discovery.
Everyone would be lost.
There would be no excitement in life.

Diversity
By Kacper Tolwinski, 8th grade

It doesn’t matter if someone is smarter than you, we are still the same.
It doesn’t matter if someone is richer than you, we are still the same.
It doesn’t matter if someone is uglier than you, we are still he same.
It doesn’t matter if someone has different skin color than you, we are still the same.
It doesn’t matter if someone is from a different country….speaks another language…weighs 100 pounds more, wears better clothes…lives in a better house…
Why did people die during the Holocaust?
Because they were different.

Life of Slavery
Mary Kate Milam, Grade 6

Slavery is bad
Living through horrible stuff
No running water
And bath once a week
I hope I will never live as a slave

Johnny Mize, Grade 6

Dream Lady came to school
She told her stories and was very cool
She talked about her life and all her strife.
Her childhood was not as easy as she hoped
That didn’t get her down, she never moped.
